Mere Launcher: Custom Icons

Mere Launcher supports custom icons. You can use images from your device, or download an icon pack.

Merely Material

I created an icon pack based on Google's Material Symbols library. This pack includes icons that adjust to day/night settings on supported Android devices.

Download Merely Material

Installation: download the icon pack to your device, then long-click on an app and select Change Icon. Then select Install icon pack and select the file you downloaded. Once installed, you should see Merely Material as an option when you change an icon.

Create Your Own

You can create your own icon set to install and share.

The distributed file is a ZIP archive.
The root element of the archive is a directory. The name of this directory is what will be displayed on the menu when you change an icon.
Within this directory are the icon images. The file name (except for the extension) is what is shown in the menu when you select an icon. Acceptable image types are png, webp, jpg, and gif.
To create variants for night mode, create a subdirectory called night. Any images in this directory with the same name as one in the base directory will be considered a night variant. If there is no matching file in the base directory, the image will be ignored. Night variants are not required, and you can include variants for as many or as few icons as you like.
In the base directory, you may include a file named info.txt. Any text in this file will be displayed when a user clicks on the info icon next to the icon pack name in the menu.
Recommended image size is 500px by 500px.
